Labour Market Participation of Young People in Sierra Leone
Sierra Leone is a beautiful country famous for the stunning beaches, diverse ecosystems and rich cultural heritage. However, it also faces a range of socio-economic challenges—particularly in relation to youth employment. Young people in Sierra Leone often struggle to access the labour market and secure decent, sustainable jobs.
This mixed-methods research project “Labour Market Participation of Young People in Sierra Leone” seeks to understand factors that support and prevent decent employment of youth in urban centres of Sierra Leone. The study prioritizes voices and experiences of young people and aims to deliver high quality data that informs policy on how labour market dynamics and intersecting inequalities affect young people and what can be done to improve their lives.
